Jean Marc Huss
Jean Marc Huss (B. 1958, France) French-born painter Jean-Marc Huss lives
and works in Thailand. He is a self-taught artist, and has spent the last 25
years painting compositionally striking images of sacred sites and statuary
from Began in Myanmar to Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Jean-Marc pays particular
attention to the individual quality of each Buddha image- their different
postures and gestures as well as the materials from which they are made.
Using oil paint, gold leaf, and other secret ingredients he depicts the
ancient patina of stone statues worn by thousands of years of monsoon rains;
the warmth of gold leaf that that flakes off in patches over time; the
textures of verdigris on centuries-old bronze. His work has gained iconic
status, and is in private and corporate collections worldwide.
