Elisabeth Bauerstein
Was born Elisabeth Bauer in Innsbruck 1933. She studied in Vienna at the Academy of Applied Arts and Academy of Graphic Arts. Even as child, her entire interest was directed towards nature and art. Awarded the Fuller Fabrics 1954 International Competition Prize, New York. The Theodor-Kowrner Prize 1959 and the city of Innsbruck prize 1966.
"Whatever I do, whatever I see or experience and even whatever hobby I am engaged in, I paint it, I experience it and give it shape within me, so that it is true to say that I paint even when I am not painting."
Public and private commissions for large murals, purchases by numerous museums and collections, exhibitions and participation in exhibitions in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Canada. USA, Italy, Egypt, Belgium, etc.. Awarded the title of Professor in 1986.
Since 1960, active as freelance artist, living in Switzerland and the Tyrol.
